The Jesson family legacy is one of god given talent and a strong work ethic, a solid commitment to the needs of the community and generosity in the advancement of worthwhile charitable goals.
My heritage goes back to the George Jesson Family from England that includes the founder of the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Lord Baden - Powell.
Dr. Stanley P. Jesson, my grandfather, a former President of the Michigan Dental Society and son of an Episcopalian Minister from Leeds England, and my grandmother Helen, also an artist and creative soul, became anchors in the Tucson Community beginning in 1960.
Dr. Jesson became a business entrepreneur and his beloved wife, my grandmother Helen Julia Jesson, was always thinking of others. Her very active community focus in Tucson included involvement in the founding of the Tucson Symphony Auxiliary and she supported many of Tucson's cultural activities.
Helen Jesson Featured Story 1994
Her commitment to St. Philip's in The Hills Episcopal Church, in the Foothills of Tucson, Arizona, helped establish a strong and loving community that welcomes, encourages and empowers all to grow in Christ and to do God's work in the world.
Born in Michigan, in a Finnish family home, she graduated as valedictorian of her class and
majored in 8 languages, obtaining her BA in Russian from the University of Arizona in 1969 and her MA in 1971. Helen also loved to paint and sculpt. Her sister, my Great Aunt, Mabel Vitali Mustonen, was a well respected and well known fiber and sculpture artist in Michigan's North Peninsula Finnish community near Mackinaw Island.

Wedding of Grandmother and Grandfather, Stanley and Helen,
with my Great Aunt's Mabel and Lillian in Michigan.
Helen was widely traveled and collected art from around the world, she also studied in Kiev, Russia and was included in the first trips to Russia and China when President Richard Nixon opened up both areas of the world to American travelers in the 1970's. She was incredible and shared her world experience and love of art with her growing family and friends.
I am very proud to continue my grandmother's example and wisdom, and greatly appreciate the opportunity to partner with you. I dedicate my life's work to my father, Dr. Stanley R. Jesson, a self made man, who used his artistic passion and gave his life to care for his patients with love, wisdom and talent.
NAMASTE!
